They came from nowhere to being Nottingham's most in-demand band in the space of 6 months and last week they showed their home town Hucknall why that is!! Phil Rostance & The Marshall Band may not be the official band of Trent FM anymore but that doesn't mean they aren't capable of rockin' sell-out crowds with their selection of pop and rock anthems from across the generations as they proved at their 'homecoming gig' last Friday.

First up, the band ripped into the Robbie Williams classic 'Let Me Entertain You' clearly a statement of intent as frontman Phil Rostance wound his way through the packed venue to take his place on stage with the rest of the band! Hit after hit followed with songs from Queen, The Killers, Bon Jovi, Huey Lewis and more huge names before the band took a breather whilst Phil and Ben thanked the crowd for their support and encouragement over the last year!

Tucked away to Phil's right had been the gorgeous Rhianne Poole but that changed as Phil took a break and she took to centre stage, proving that she in herself could be the headline act as she ripped out the Amy Whinehouse modern classic 'Valerie' and then re-filled the floor, mainly with 'The Girls' as she put , pulling out the legendary 'I Will Survive'.

It was at that point that the atmosphere changed from a high-energy rock and roll show to a party. Kids, teenagers, parents, grandparents, everyone was up, dancing, singing and generally having a great night as Phil returned to stage and drove through hits including Viva La Viva (Coldplay), Mr Brightside (The Killers), Sex on Fire (Kings of Leon), Never Forget (Take That), Rocking All Over The World (Status Quo) but to name a few....

Again, it was time for another member of the band to take centre stage, this time lead guitarist Ben Marshall! You got the feeling many of the crowd knew what was coming as Ben sang the opening line to the anthemic 'Livin On A Prayer' the crowd did the rest! The place went wild, everyone singing at the top of their lungs, what an atmosphere! You thought it'd have to come down after that, but Marshall had different ideas as he struck into the opening chords of the ever popular Summer of 69..........
